A top-mount pool sand filter is a sand filter system where the multiport control valve is mounted directly onto the top of the filter tank. This creates a compact, integrated unit. The valve controls all functions like filtering, backwashing, and rinsing.

The process is standard for sand filters. Turn off the pump, move the top-mount valve handle to the 'Backwash' position, turn the pump on, and watch the sight glass.
